Join us for a wonderful full-day hike when nature is at its peak. The Rhododendron Park is currently at its finest, and the trail is blooming in true early summer spirit. We begin at Halmstad Castle and walk at a steady pace, reaching the enchanting Möllegård in the afternoon.
Throughout the tour, we are guided by nature photographer and Halland expert Patrik Leonardsson. In a lighthearted and often humorous way, he shares stories about the places and events along the trail. From Viking battles and maritime history to nature, geology, ancient remains, carved declarations of love, and weary kings – there is much to discover. If you are interested, Patrik will also provide tips on how to capture the trail's many beautiful expressions on camera.
After about two-thirds of the hike, we reach Tylösand, where a delicious lunch awaits at Hotel Tylösand, with the sea and the island of Tylön in the background. After this relaxing break, we continue our trek through sand dunes and beach grass. Eventually, the open views transition into jungle-like surroundings as we leave the sea behind and follow the Nyrebäcken stream toward Möllegård. At the end of the hike, there is an option to enjoy some delicious Italian gelato. A bus will be waiting at the car park to take us comfortably back to Halmstad Castle where we began.
Please wear comfortable shoes, such as hiking boots or sneakers. Bring water, a seat pad, and a piece of fruit if desired.
